Know a fair range before you pay the shop.

Fair Repair Range gives drivers a low / typical / high cost range for common repairs. Optional VIN decode helps classify the vehicle; ranges are still planning estimates, not a shop quote or OEM procedure time. Get a written inspection from a real shop before you decide.

Paste a VIN to auto-classify year / make / model via NHTSA. You can still change vehicle class chips after decode.

    How the estimate is built

Baselines are independent-shop prices for a mainstream midsize vehicle at a national average. Multipliers then adjust for vehicle class, shop type, and region using published 2025–2026 U.S. patterns. Optional VIN decode (NHTSA vPIC) can auto-select class and apply modest brand / EV / size adjustments on top.

    Privacy

This version runs in your browser. Repair selections stay local. If you decode a VIN, that VIN is sent only to the public NHTSA vPIC API (U.S. DOT) to look up year / make / model — we do not store it on a Fair Repair Range server.
